01 — The brief

Performing Arts Perspectives celebrates local West Australian talent with seasonal productions. It needed a logo, and a poster series for its upcoming Shakespeare season, in a single six-hour sitting.

02 — The WorldSkills story

WorldSkills Australia's national finals put the country's best young tradespeople and designers head to head. In graphic design that meant three days, three briefs, and six hours to finish each one, competing for Team WA.

Day two was packaging, built and cut by hand on the competition floor. Performing Arts Perspectives was the last brief, on day three: a logo and a set of branded posters, start to finish, before the clock ran out.

It tested the things clients never see: working fast under pressure, deciding early, and still caring about every detail.

03 — The idea

The logo plays on perspective and breaking the fourth wall: a stage drawn as an open cube, with a curtain pulled back on one face. It went from idea to finished mark in under an hour.

The posters promote the program's Shakespeare season. Timeless greyscale portraits, raw spray-paint texture and bold, balanced type, with one restrained hit of colour that lifts each play's quote off the page.
